In additional to our wonderful volunteers, Our Savior is also blessed to have a dedicated and talented staff to lead and serve the people of our church and community.

Administrative Assistant
Sonja and her husband Bill joined Our Savior in 2006 when they moved to McKinney from California via Kansas to be closer to family. Bill and Sonja have 5 children, 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. They are both retired from Lockheed Missile and Space Company. They love spending time with family and friends especially dining out. Sonja is usually the delightful voice that will greet when you call or stop by the church office.

Jo and her husband Art have been a part of Our Savior since 1996 and began serving on staff in 2006 after retiring from Keystone Consolidated Industries as a divisional controller. The Hinrichs have two children and three grandchildren. Jo loves working with others who are passionate about building God’s kingdom and loves that serving at Our Savior allows her to serve God and his people with her time and talents. In her free time Jo can be found with her grandkids or on the farm spending time with her horse.

Jack & Mary K. Janco

Parish Administrator
Jack Janco serves part time at Our Savior as the parish administrator which involves everything from over seeing the facilities to contracts with vendors and human resources. Jack is married to Mary K and has three children and is the proud grandfather of 5. Before coming to Our Savior, Jack worked in human resources as well as in engineering, architecture and health care management consulting. Jack enjoys spending his free time fly fishing, fly tying, cooking, wine collecting and traveling.

Tutwiler Family
Rev. Dr. Danny Tutwiler
Senior Pastor
Pastor Tutwiler has been Senior Pastor of Our Savior since 2003. He has previously served as a pastor at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Norwalk, CT and St. Luke Lutheran Church Itasca, IL. Pastor Tutwiler’s family includes his wife Lynn and his grown children Joshua (Diana), Amanda and Andrew. He especially enjoys spending time with his grandson Brady. Pastor Tutwiler is a graduate of Valparaiso Unviersity,M. Div. Concordia Seminary (St. Louis) and holds a D. Min. from Fuller Theological Seminary. He enjoys writing as a hobby. He loves serving together with the people of Our Savior.
David Thompson
Director of Ministry Development
David comes to Our Savior with 21 years of ministry experience, including 16 years with Campus Crusade for Christ, primarily at the University of Texas. Most recently David served a congregation in Plano where he focused on small group ministry and leadership development.At Our Savior David serves as the Director of Ministry Development. In this role David will work to mobilize the congregation for service in God’s Kingdom in a way that deepens spiritual maturity and implements the vision of Our Savior. In many ways David is a coach who builds teams, equips leaders, and supports the team in its mission. David loves to help people find their place on God’s team where they grow in faith and make a significant contribution to the work God is doing.
David and Karen, his wife of 17 years, have three boys – Reed, Drew, and Trent, and a girl, Ansley, ranging in age from 15 to 8. Yes, the girl is the youngest. David graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Computer Science and Management. He enjoys sports, reading, writing, teaching, and developing people.

Wasson Family
John Wasson
Director of Worship
John his wife Gail and children John, Jackie and Rachel joined Our Savior in the fall of 2007 when he was led to accept the position of Director of Worship. John’s responsibilities include the planning of all worship services and directing of all music teams at OSL. John is a graduate of the University of North Texas with a Master Degree in Music. John is a gifted composer and producer check out his website to see some of his work. Rev. Nathan Wendorf
Assistant Pastor
Pastor Nathan has served at Our Savior since July of 2005. He and his wife Kristine were called to OSL after his graduation from Concordia Seminary in Saint Louis were he received his Masters of Divinity. He is also a graduate wiht a BA in Elementary Education as well as a Lutheran Teacher Diploma from Concordia University Chicago. Nathan and Kristine have one son Jonathan who arrived in March of 2009. A native of Northeast Ohio Pastor Nathan is an avid baseball (especially the Cleveland Indians) fan and enjoys going to musicals with his wife. Pastor Nathan currently serves in the area of Family Ministry and has a passion for families having faith conversations in the home. At Our Savior in addition to pastoral duties of preaching, teaching, counseling and the like he is also responsible for Confirmation Ministry for both Middle Schoolers and the Connections Ministry to Adults new to our community of faith. He is also continuing his education as a part of the Pastoral Leadership Institute. In the community Nathan serves on the McKinney Chamber of Commerce Leadership Programs Committee. He serves the church at large by currently serving as the circuit counselor for Circuit 8 of the Texas District of the LCMS.
