Invitation to Stephen Minister Commissioning

A valuable part of being a part of the Body of Christ, that is the church, is the support we can provide for one another when we are in need. As sisters and brothers in Christ we rally around each other when we are ill, we comfort those grieving the death of a loved one, we pray and walk besides those struggling with job issues and family turmoil and the like. Caring for one another is not just an opportunity but rather a calling to all of us as we serve one another in love. (Galatians 5:13). A particular, specialized part of this care support structure of our congregation is Stephen Ministry through one-on-one Christian care giving.

During both worship services on May 16^th, we will commission our newest Stephen Ministers. These men and women have responded to God’s call to be part of this ministry and have completed their intensive and specialized training. We invite the entire congregation including you to be part of this commissioning.

We also ask for your ongoing support of this ministry by:

1. Praying for Stephen Ministers, leaders, and care receivers

2. Learning how to use this valuable ministry of our church

3. Referring people who could use the care of Stephen Ministry to the Stephen leaders
