Lent Worship Sunday Mornings

Lent is a special time in the church calendar when we draw near to God through repentance, prayer, and preparation as we look ahead to Christ’s death and ultimate resurrection on Easter Sunday. In the weekend services we will conduct a series entitled “Worship: a Divine Perspective” where we will focus upon six core values of biblical worship (Christ-Centered, Authenticity, Passion, Excellence, Submission and Sacrifice). A daily Lenten Devotional is also available to aid you in drawing nearer to God during this very significant time. Pick one up today or download it from the church website oslmckinney.org

Global Links

OSL is linked to Cambodia, where Rev. Fungchatou and Kalia Lo serve as missionaries. They write, “Upon returning to Phnom Penh, Fungchatou and Jesse, a national co-worker, went to Ratanakiri to start another theological training program with the Khmer and Jarai church leaders. Nineteen participants attended this first training session. More people wanted to attend the program, but because of limited funding, we could not accept everyone. Fungchatou and Jesse also visited the Jarai people at their villages with Rev. Chhim Vanarith, chairman of Evangelical Lutheran Church of Cambodia. The Jarai are ethnic minority living in the Ratanakiri province. They are substance farmers and many of them are Christians, but no well-trained pastors are available to minister to them. Their coming to attend our theological training program will help them to be knowledgeable about their Christian faith and able to minister to their own people with the truth. They also needed a lot of help with nutrition and health care. Many children were sick and needed medical attentions, which could have been prevented if they learn about personal hygiene. Our Concordia Welfare and Education Foundation-Cambodia (CWEF) staff will be visiting and providing community health education to the Jarai people.”
