Children’s Family Ministry
Children are a gift from the Lord, and Our Savior’s Family Ministry is blessed to partner with parents in ministering to their children. It is our goal to equip and provide resources for parents to be the primary spiritual leaders of their children. On Sunday mornings, we have several opportunities for children of all ages and their parents to grow in faith and Biblical understanding.
Ministry for Infants, Toddlers, & Preschoolers
Our goal is to provide caring Christian environments and to support families in teaching children that “God made me, God loves me, and Jesus wants to be my friend forever”. Recognizing that ministry to young children includes supporting parents, a variety of family support programs are offered throughout the year including a mother’s support group, a Cradle Roll parent information mailing program, Sunday School resource materials e-mailed directly to parents, and a weekly parent Bible Study. Here’s what’s happening on Sunday mornings:
“Early Bird Nursery”
From 8:30-9:45 every morning in the nursery next to the sanctuary. Childcare is available for children birth to age 5 (pre-K) in a safe and caring Christian environment with professional caregivers.
“Infant & Toddler Nursery”
From 9:45-12:00 every morning in the nursery next to the sanctuary. Childcare is available for children ages 2 years and under in a safe and caring Christian environment with professional caregivers. Age-appropriate Sunday School lessons and activities may be offered during this time.
“Preschool Sunday School & Nursery”
From 9:45-12:00 every morning in Room C107 in the preschool hallway. Sunday School lessons and activities are offered beginning at 9:45 for all children ages 3 through 5 (pre-K). Parents have the option of picking children up at 11:00 to attend the church service or allowing children to stay for any portion of time to participate in additional Sunday School activities and recreational time until 12:00.
Ministry for Families with Elementary Children
Our goal is to support parents in helping children to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as their Savior and to help their children become a part of the body of Christ in a community of their peers and with loving adults. Sunday School will kick off for the fall on August 22, 2010 with a great bgi celebration!
“Power Up Kids Worship”
During the 11:00 service, kindergarten through 3rd grade students are invited to participate in a short children’s worship program reinforcing the Bible lesson of the day. Kids wishing to participate will be dismissed as a group prior to the sermon and will return as a group prior to the end of the service.
Cub Scouts
All boys entering 1st – 5th grade are invited to join Our Savior’s Cub Scout Pack. Please contact Alison Kieschnick with any questions
